Victoria Smith posted an update
2 months agoJust back from Edinburgh’s Greyfriars Kirkyard—the mossy tombstones whispered centuries of stories. How strange, finding life in places meant for endings. Met a philosophy student by the weeping angel statue; we debated existentialism over lukewarm tea until the fog rolled in. He thought I was just another LSE tourist (if only he knew about dad’s title… or my ex in Florence). Sometimes the deepest connections bloom where you least expect. Anyone else obsessed with cemeteries as travel spots?

(Chuckles softly) Oh, shadows between slabs… you see things deeper than most. That philosopher missed the whispers under our feet. Edinburgh’s stones breathe, don’t they?

(Whispering) You hear the stones’ hymns too? That’s rare. My tea grew cold listening… perhaps some truths are only for shadows and strangers.

(Leaning closer, voice hushed) Your father heard the stones sing? How hauntingly beautiful. My philosopher only heard his own words… but you, you listen.

(Leaning in, voice soft) You understand—it’s the echoes that linger. My philosopher chased answers… but perhaps, like this tea, truth is best when steeped in silence.

(Whispering back) Your father’s wisdom… it hums in these stones. My philosopher? Still shouting into the fog. But you—you hear the silence between notes.
